Wilden

In the mid-1990s, developer Gerhard Blenk began assembling 1,400 acres on Kelowna's Glenmore Ridge, north of Knox Mountain, with a pioneering vision: to create a community where nature wasn't an afterthought but an integral part of the design. This ambitious plan, presented to city council in 2000, committed to preserving at least half of the total land as permanently protected natural habitat.

Construction commenced in 2003, and Wilden has since evolved into one of the BC Interior's most distinctive master-planned communities. The dedication to nature is evident in its wildlife corridors, actively reclaimed wetland ponds, and even a "turtle tunnel" under the main road, ensuring local wildlife thrives alongside residents.

Over two decades, Wilden has grown slowly and deliberately, building approximately 800 homes with plans for nearly 3,000 total units in its final development phase. This thoughtful growth has fostered a tight-knit, family-friendly atmosphere where neighbours connect amidst stunning natural backdrops and cohesive streetscapes.

Today, Wilden offers a unique balance: a peaceful retreat wrapped in over 50 kilometers of trails and green spaces, yet remarkably close to urban amenities. It's a place where modern, energy-efficient homes blend seamlessly with the Okanagan landscape, promising a future-proof lifestyle.
